Over the last 3 months I have been making Christmas Cards and decorations and selling them to raise funds for Dundee Bairns and to supply Christmas lunches and afternoon teas in the community. Well I’m happy to say with the help of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Forfarshire, The Provincial Grand Chapter of Angus & Mearns The Lodges, Lodge Grange 1073, Lodge Albert Lochee 448, Lodge Ubique 1192, Lodge St Thomas of Aberbrothock 40 and Lodge Forfar & Kincardine 225 and the very generous personal donations of the Freemasons in the Province a grand total of £2230.00 was raised. Today after school I presented a cheque to Genna Millar of Dundee Bairns for £1500.00 that will go towards keeping Bairns and families cosy this winter. Afternoon teas are being delivered this week to households ( referred )and a special delivery will be made to the staff and patients at Roxburghe House to spread a little Christmas Cheer. Thank you all so much for supporting me in everything I do and I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year |
7th November 2020 | Arthur Halliday, Covid Co-ordinator presents a cheque for £300.00 to Project Co-ordinator Genna Millar of Dundee Bairns of behalf of the Freemasons of Forfarshire to the “ Cosy Bairns “ appeal fund. Cosy Bairns was launched after parents throughout the city were recently asked to provide their children with extra clothes to wear in class as rooms must stay ventilated to combat Covid-19, even when temperatures drop. Genna Millar from Dundee Bairns said Cosy Bairns was needed to address inequalities faced by vulnerable children across our city. “The power of the community in the development of it in the last few weeks in the partnership between business, the third sector and individuals who wish to make a difference for local children has been an amazing thing to witness, and we hope that this is something which will continue to develop and grow. “We are keen to get clothes to children as quickly as possible, as we are so aware of the fact that the need was there a few weeks ago and the weather isn’t going to get better any time soon.” Thanks we’re passed on from Genna to the Freemasons again for their generosity. |
