Lance-Corporal David A. Mitchell, Duke of Wellington's Regiment, was the only son of Charles Mitchell, 21 Carnegie Street, Arbroath.

He was greatly respected in his profession as teacher at Keptie School, and was match secretary of the Arbroath Amateur Football Club. He was presumed killed in France on the 10th of April 1918.

He was a member of Lodge St Vigean No.101, Arbroath
